I have redone the whole setup as it is MUCH better now, faster and more stable. I've never been able to go faster than this time with Sauber on Australia in F1 2016. I feel that expert is much harder than it used to be, I won easily before on expert, now it's not the second hardest difficulty any longer but I'm still having huge problems with at least the back marker teams. Haven't tried Mercedes or Ferrari or something like that and I'm not going to unless I redo my first career season as sauber as my computer crashed when I just signed as red bull haha.

First of all hi to everyone, it's my first post here :D

Great setup there, I'm working with this with Renault in Time Trial, trying to understand better the settings ahead of my career mode with the French team, and so far I feel very good with the car, most of all it's not the best laptime, which I've been able to better anyway, but it's the way I can be more or less consistent, which I couldn't with my previous setup.

I've been tweaking it a bit and so far the modifications I've come up with are:

Aerodynamics

Front 9

Rear 8

Brake

Pressure 90%

Tire Pressure

Front 22.5 psi

Rear 21.1 psi

Still need to try in career mode and see if the tire pressures are ok or give too much wear though.

Ah, I'm playing on PS4 with T300GTE wheel.

Best time so far: 1.29.774

Hi all,

 

My very first post here. I've been playing F1 games since Racing Simulation 2, but very inconsistantly. My last F1 game was F1 2013 so I still need some time to find the right mojo with this game. However, some people here were asking about a Williams setup. I've been testing around lots of different setups but I can just quote this 1 Mercedes Setup that worked out so super fine for me. Thanks for this one!

I'm currently doing the first race of the career with Renault, with the setup I posted above a couple posts ago.

Struggling with the tire wear program, as I have to push hard on Soft tires to meet the required times and that leads to high tire wear...any tips on how to tweak the setup to reduce tire wear? Car seems to be slipping / sliding through corners, that raises the wear; also I think I need to reduce the brake pressure and start braking earlier...

Note: It's, for me, a quit stabil car to drive. The rear won't break out as easily (driving on ice). It's possible to knock of a sec or 2-3. It has to be, because my driving can be improved.

i'm quite happy with the time but lost 4 tenths overall (2 tenths in T8 and another 2 in the second last corner). Without that a mid 24 is easy possible

Great setup. Did in qualy with a Mclaren 1:24.950 with the SS tyre. Lost 2 tenths in de second sector.

Hi guys and girls! New here but I like it so I wanted to contribute. I see Merc after Merc setup and not many of the others so I have a Mclaren one for you all. A brief background; started career with Red Bull on medium difficulty, won all races. Started new career with Renault on hard, won a majority of the races. Took a contract with McLaren and increased to master.

I had a lot of trouble with this track with Renault and it looks like I'm having the same troubles. I only just scraped through the qual sim program, skipped the tyre management completely, TA program was fine as it's not timed.

Position expected was 18th, I got 15th. I was a bit sloppy too, potential for another half to one second faster. Now to race it. If this doesn't help you please don't be too harsh. Only just now getting into the setups as I feel I need it for the higher difficulty.

Edit/update: I started in 13th, not 15th, my apologies. My expected finish was 15th or better. I finished a flashback free 9th after many restarts. The AI are very difficult to deal with! Unfortunately I got a +3 sec penalty pushing me back to 11th. Edited strategy at the start to start on softs and pit on lap 8 for supersofts. (25% distance).
